First Cold Pressed Olive Oil

November 15, 2016 By Robin Fannon

A staple of the heart-healthy mediterranean diet, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) helps to control inflammation, is rich in vitamin E and monounsaturated fat that has been linked to controlling blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol production. We use it almost exclusively in our kitchen (yes, even for cooking).  Be sure to purchase a reputable brand in order to ensure quality.   A first cold pressed variety is recommended because it indicates a minimal amount of heat used in processing which can damage the nutritional impact.
