The temperature was cool and there was a definite joyous feeling in the air. Our agenda was full with multiple activities. Picture taking with grandson Colby who was celebrating homecoming and escorting a lovely young lady to the school dance. Our local city park was celebrating a variety of events. Hurricane Matthew had roared through the weekend prior, so multiple events were re-scheduled to accommodate all the activities that everyone had worked so hard on. A Shakespeare in the Park production, Oktoberfest and the Centennial Park Celebration. There were vendors, food stations, pumpkins, fireworks and so much more. The day's events culminated with a rich and satisfying meal. Spicy Bloody Mary's to start, mixed green salad, hearty turkey three bean chili, cornbread and apple pie with vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
