Tremendous Turmeric

November 18, 2016 By Robin Fannon

By this time, anyone who has any interest in health has heard the buzz about the incredible benefits of Turmeric (or mainly its compound Curcumin).  Now widely used for its anti-inflamatory properties it also has many other uses. Long recommended by holistic and Ayurvedic practitioners, conventional doctors have now tapped into its high level of antioxidants and its ability to help minimize pain from diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis and joint pain.  It has also been proven to delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes.  Being a household that prepares Indian dishes frequently, we always have it on hand for curries, rice dishes, legume and vegetable dishes. Now widely available in most supermarket produce sections, the fresh root makes an excellent addition to healthy smoothies, along with a good plant-based protein powder it provides the perfect post workout nutritional boost your body needs.
